Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Academy Study Tips
1. Setting a regular time to study that fits in with the student's family schedule
2. Removing distractions (turning off the television and discouraging social phone calls during homework time)
3. Gathering necessary supplies
4. Recording assignments in an assignment book or on a calendar
5. Note-taking; managing time
6. Organizing for a test.  Students need to review these study skills in middle school to be prepared for high school. |
HUSKIES BRING HOME HONORS FROM CAL STATE LONG BEACH
In Geometry, 8th graders Aileen Ho and Kimberly Rivera tied for 1st Place. 7th Grader Jesse Cortez took 2nd Place in Algebra. 6th Grader Brianna Rivera took 2nd Place as a General Math Delegate along with Kamar Godoy who also took 2nd Place in the General Math At Large competition. In Engineering, 6th Grader Brianna Rivera took 1st Place in the Bridge Building - Creativity Category. In the Speech Competition, 6th Grader Kamar Godoy took 1st place.
