It is the mission of Bud Carson Middle School that all students are provided a comprehensive and safe educational experience in which students are successful within a community dedicated to learning. We are committed to building a team among students, their families, the school and community that prepares our culturally diverse students to achieve academically and socially in an ever-changing world.

Study Tips

Study Tips.jpgChildren need good study skills in order to complete assignments successfully and gain the most from them academically. Below is a list of study skills middle school students should use as they prepare for high school. 

 

1.  Setting a regular time to study that fits in with the student's family schedule

 

2.  Removing distractions (turning off the television and discouraging social phone calls during homework time)

 

3.  Gathering necessary supplies

 

4.  Recording assignments in an assignment book or on a calendar

 

5.  Note-taking; managing time

 

6. Organizing for a test.         

 

Students need to review these study skills in middle school to be prepared for high school.

HUSKIES BRING HOME HONORS FROM CAL STATE LONG BEACH

MESA Champs 2012.jpgOn Saturday, April 14, 2012 hundreds of local students, built bridges, dropped eggs, and tackled mathematics in hopes of capturing a win at a hands-on math, engineering and science competition hosted by Cal State Long Beach. Bud Carson's MESA students had a thrilling day and came away with many honors.   BCMS students competed against middle school students from various schools and came home with 7 Awards. 

In Geometry, 8th graders Aileen Ho and Kimberly Rivera tied for 1st Place. 7th Grader Jesse Cortez took 2nd Place in Algebra.  6th Grader Brianna Rivera took 2nd Place as a General Math Delegate along with Kamar Godoy who also took 2nd Place in the General Math At Large competition. In Engineering, 6th Grader Brianna Rivera took 1st Place in the Bridge Building - Creativity Category.  In the Speech Competition, 6th Grader Kamar Godoy took 1st place.
